میکروسکوپ نیروی اتمی زیستی (Bio-AFM) یکی از مهمترین ابزارهای مطالعه نمونه ها در زیست شناسی است. Bio-AFMبستر مناسبی را برای ادغام میکروسکوپ نیروی اتمی و میکروسکوپ نوری در پروژه های تحقیقاتی بیولوژیکی فراهم می کند. توانایی Bio-AFM در گرفتن تصاویر در محیط های مختلف به همراه مدهای کاری متنوع به دانشمندان اجازه می دهد تا ساختار و خواص سلول های زنده و سایر نمونه های بیولوژیکی مانند DNA و RNA، پروتئین ها، ویروس ها، باکتری ها، بافت ها و … را مطالعه کنند.
